My favorite Ames memory was the day of my 16th birthday. My
sophomore year, my best friend Mason Farnsworth had been teasing me all
freshmen year about being short, he would always ask me during Spanish if I
would buy a booster seat once I got my driver’s license. I replied to him with
a smack on his arm and telling him how rude he was, we both laughed about the fact
of me buying a booster seat for when I got my driver’s license. He then brought
up that he would lie to me telling me that he got me a booster seat for my
birthday, but that in reality he would have an even better surprise for me
inside of the booster seat box. I ignored him and told him he wouldn’t really
do it he then replied with “challenge accepted” I just looked at him and
laughed. November 14th my birthday had
finally been here I walked into Spanish and Mason and Serene screamed my name
and said happy birthday, in my mind I was thinking “aww mason didn’t get me my
present”. He told me that he had gotten me a present but that he had forgotten
it at home, I was kind of sad about it but at least serene had gotten me a
small cake. After Spanish was over I walked around the halls and when I was
about to walk towards west pod serene stopped me at the corner; and didn’t let
me through, afterwards she walked with me. And I saw mason with a big present
as I unwrapped it I realized that it was a booster seat. I looked at him and
laughed, after I had taken it out I put it together and he made me sit on it so
that he could take pictures of me. This is my favorite Ames memory because if I
hadn’t come to Ames then I would have never met mason, I would have never met
such an amazing friend.
